On Feb. 24, the Bruins dropped a 4-3 decision to the Toronto Maple Leafs at Air Canada Centre in Toronto. It was a highly entertaining game at both ends of the ice, and served as a possible Stanley Cup playoff first-round preview.
That game ended in a bit of controversy, as the Bruins believed there was goaltender interference on the Maple Leafs' game-winning tally with 1:23 remaining in regulation. The play broke down like this: Toronto’s Zach Hyman was battling with Bruins defenseman Charlie McAvoy in front of Boston’s net. Clearly, Hyman pushed McAvoy into Tuukka Rask as the puck went back to the point. Toronto’s Ron Hainsey took a weak one-timer, but Rask couldn’t move to his left in time as the puck went in. It proved to be the game-winner.
No interference Jack! Leafs goal!!! Rask was on his feet and made the move to make the save. Good goal, good call. Go Leafs Go! @MapleLeafs @ReidSullivan33 @NHLBruins pic.twitter.com/C6jzfcH3TW
