Matthew Slater is coming back to New England.

The veteran has agreed to a two-year contract with the Patriots, per a league source. The 32-year-old, who has been with New England since 2008, has carved out an impressive niche for himself as one of the preeminent special teamers in the game — he’s a seven-time Pro Bowler.

Slater, who took a free-agent visit with Pittsburgh before agreeing on a new deal with the Patriots, will be going into his 11th season in the league.
