The Celtics had no business winning Tuesday night at the TD Garden against one of the league's hottest teams, but that did not stop them from pulling off a miraculous finish. Boston rallied from down five points with 13 seconds remaining and escaped with a 100-99 win over the Oklahoma City Thunder after Marcus Morris drilled a go-ahead 3-pointer with 1.2 seconds remaining.

First Half Notes
- An understandable ugly offensive effort by the Celtics, who had to grind their way to baskets throughout much of the first quarter against a top-10 Thunder defense.
- Jayson Tatum and Marcus Morris (11 points each) did a lot of the heavy lifting early on to keep the Celtics close with some nice midrange shot creation and drives.
- Still the Celtics managed to muster points from their bench and front line (38 percent shooting from the field, 23 percent from 3-point range).
- Another ugly first half for Al Horford (0 points, 3 turnovers). C's can't afford that kind of protection when they are lacking serious firepower due to injuries.
- Nice job by the C's wings of keeping Paul George (5-of-14) from getting into a rhythm. Steven Adams got plenty of open looks on drives at the rim but the C's defense held strong otherwise thanks to the likes of Semi Ojeleye and Jayson Tatum.
- A brutal first half shooting wise from Nader and Ojeleye, as has been the case for the past several games. They combined to shoot
Pregame Notes
- Kyrie Irving will miss his fourth consecutive game with a sore knee, while Jaylen Brown is out for his fifth straight contest as he continues to recover from concussion symptoms. Both players could travel with the team on its west coast road trip on Wednesday.
- The Celtics have the third worst offensive rating in the league over the three games Irving and Brown have missed in the past week.
- Boston and Oklahoma City have not played since Nov. 4 in OKC, when the Celtics came from an 18-point halftime deficit to put together their seventh-straight win at the time in a 101-94 victory.
- The Thunder have rolled off seven straight wins to catapult themselves to the No. 4 spot in the Western Conference, including an impressive road win over the East-leading Raptors on Sunday afternoon in Toronto. A surprise contributor over that stretch has been none other than Corey Brewer. He signed with the Thunder a couple weeks ago after being bought out by the Lakers and is averaging 11.8 ppg after being inserted into the starting five.
