Report: CB Aqib Talib dealt to Rams taken at BSJ Headquarters (Patriots)

(Jake Roth/USA TODAY Sports)

The Broncos traded Aqib Talib to the Rams on Thursday night for a fifth-round pick, per Ian Rapoport of NFL Media.

The veteran corner, who had reportedly sought out a deal that would have him traded to the Rams or the Patriots, is reunited with Wade Phillips, who served as the Denver defensive coordinator for a portion of the time Talib was with the Broncos.

So how does this impact New England?

The move narrows down some of the options for the Patriots when it comes to the cornerback market. If New England is still interested — and I’m guessing they are — there’s always Seattle cornerback Richard Sherman, who is expected to hit the market sooner rather than later. For our thoughts on the possibility of Sherman-to-the Patriots, check out our stories from earlier on Thursday here and here.
