Good morning!
A few random thoughts while I contemplate if Team Brady vs. Team Brees would spice up a different version of the Pro Bowl (nope)...
- Have to say, the NBA All-Star Game was fairly entertaining in the waning moments, as actual effort and (gasp!) defense were on display. Team LeBron edged Team Stephen 148-145 on Sunday night in Los Angeles. LeBron James won his third MVP with 29 points.
- That total included the game-winning bucket on this dish from former teammate Kyrie Irving:

- Irving had 13 points (6-of 13-shooting) with nine assists and seven rebounds in 27 minutes. Of course, he had a few of his usual highlights...

- Al Horford had six points (2-of-4 shooting) and five rebounds in 12 minutes for Team Stephen, which led by 11 with six minutes to play.
- Guess who was also there?
- Congrats to the U.S. Women's Hockey Team, which advanced to the gold medal game on Wednesday vs. Canada/Olympic Athletes from Russa winner with a 5-0 win over Finland. The team includes four
fivenative New Englanders: Kali Flanagan (Burlington), Kacey Bellamy (Westfield), Meghan Duggan (Danvers),Alex Carpenter (North Reading)and Amanda Pelkey (Montpelier, Vt.). Apparently, Carpenter was left off the final Olympics roster. - The men have an elimination game at 10:10 p.m. vs. Slovakia.
- Will be interesting to see how the Bruins bounce back in Calgary (4 p.m.) after getting blown out by the Canucks 6-1 on Saturday night.
- Pretty sweet victories by Bubba Watson (Genesis Open) and Austin Dillon (Daytona 500) that I was able to catch a bit of as we start to come down from the NFL season.
- A little bit of a slow weekend around BSJ but things will be getting cranked up today with wall-to-wall coverage across all the four major sports. Check back!
And away we go...
