Good morning!
A few random thoughts on this Valentine's Day, which I'm not a fan of but whatever...
- I'm not usually a fan of promoting a local for MVP just to sound the horn (although Tom Brady should have long been a no-brainer) but with the run that Patrice Bergeron is on, and his immense value to the team, he should definitely be one of the frontrunners. I mean, he has 17 goals and 10 assists (27 points) in his last 19 games, and the Bruins are one win away from being the best team in the league. Bergy has just been outstanding.
- And I can already hear McDonald chatting up Tuukka Rask for the Vezina. Lord help us all.
- Really good story by Joe talking about all the particulars about the Bruins and the trade deadline. Sounds like they are likely to stand pat at the deadline. Don't hate it, but would like to see a defensive piece added.
- Red Sox pitchers and catchers officially report this morning, and Sean McAdam has been all over things at the Fort.
- If Alex Cora doesn't lighten up a little with the media, it's going to be a long year.
- David Price has turned over a new accountability leaf? Interesting. It's a no negativity zone, however. Remember that.
- Your Olympic highlight: Shaun White delivers on the halfpipe with the pressure on in a program he had to nail, and wins his third Olympic gold medal:
