Guerschon Yabusele is facing off against Joakim Noah in G-League action on Wednesday

The Celtics sent oft-used rookie Guerschon Yabusele on assignment with the Maine Red Claws on Tuesday and the big man will get a good opportunity to face off with some NBA talent on Wednesday when Maine faces off with the Westchester Knicks, who will have Joakim Noah in action for them in his own rehab assignment.

Yabusele has played just 32 minutes over the first 22 games of the Celtics season, having been outplayed by the likes of Daniel Theis and Semi Ojeleye during training camp and the preseason, which has left him on the bench most nights. Brad Stevens has kept the 21-year-old Frenchman with the big club for the majority of the year (to keep the Celtics with 13 active players on most nights), but with the C's finally getting healthy, look for Yabusele to spend more time up north to get additional reps.

The Red Claws will face off with the Knicks (11 a.m. ET start time) in a matinee matchup in Westchester and Noah will be looking to get back into shape himself. He was suspended for the first ten games of the NBA season and was inactive for the Knicks over the past few weeks as well while ramping himself up into playing shape. This will be the first live game action for Noah since the 2016-17 regular season and should be a nice opportunity to see Yabusele go up against a better level of competition for extended minutes.
