LOS ANGELES -- Let’s get this straight: There is no goalie controversy.
Yes, Anton Khudobin was solid again and finished with 27 saves to help the Bruins snap a four-game losing skid with a 2-1 win over the Los Angeles Kings Thursday night at Staples Center. There’s also a possibility he will start again on Saturday against the Sharks at SAP Center in San Jose.
But Boston’s victory was a total team effort, which is something the Bruins have lacked of late. After the game, Bruce Cassidy was asked if he would give Khudobin the nod on against the Sharks.
“We’re going to look at it,” admitted Cassidy. “He played very well against San Jose last time (a 2-1 win). They’re a heavy team and he seems to do well in these types of games when there’s a lot of traffic around the net. We’ll look at that decision (Friday).”
Khudobin improves to 4-0-2 in seven games (six starts) this season. Starter Tuukka Rask is 3-7-2 with a 2.89 goals-against average and a .897 save percentage.
