BSJ Daily Briefing 11.15.17: Well, that was an interesting afternoon taken at BSJ Headquarters (Regular Features)

(Brad Penner/USA TODAY Sports)

Good morning!

A few quick thoughts we'll I have a recurring nightmare of seeing hundreds of emails descending into my email account that says, "Account Cancellation."

  • So in case you haven't heard, for about 15 minutes around 4 p.m. on Tuesday, memberships began to be canceled for an unknown reason.

  • The problem affected about 600 accounts.

  • Thanks to the quick action of BuildInMotion, the incident was able to be contained, and the accounts were restored by 7 p.m.

  • Many of you who emailed heard from Mrs. BSJ, who was working feverishly to keep our members informed. As always, she was invaluable to all this.

  • We are not sure of the cause at this time, but that will be addressed today. We wanted to make sure we halted and corrected the problem fist.

  • Let's not do that again, OK?

  • Thursday night and Celtics-Warriors can't get here quick enough. This will be one of the most hyped regular-season games — in any sport — around here ever. That goes for Patriots games, and Red Sox-Yankees games. It's that big.

  • Hannibal The Cannibal was pretty good last night.

  • The floundering Bruins open up a four-game road trip tonight in Anaheim. If an NHL team's season ends on West Coast time and no one was up to hear it, did it happen?

  • Put me down for a cheap free agency approach for the Red Sox this offseason. I'd rather try to recapture the magic of 2013 with cheap free agents who are character guys and glue guys, than wonder what any of these sluggers will look like in five years after being paid a ton of money.
