NFL spokesman Joe Lockhart said Tuesday the league is not worried about any issues when it comes to the case of Martellus Bennett and his return to New England.
On a conference call with the media Tuesday, he was asked if there were any tampering issues surrounding Bennett’s re-acquisition by the Patriots. Lockhart replied “No.”
Bennett, who was reacquired by New England after the Packers let him go last week, raised eyebrows when he intimated that Green Bay was pressuring him to play through a shoulder injury prior to his departure. Bennett was listed on Friday’s injury report by the Patriots, and ended up playing a limited number of snaps in Sunday’s win over the Broncos.
