FOXBOROUGH — Martellus Bennett was a wildly popular presence in the New England locker room in 2016, so it wasn’t a shock that when the news of his acquisition by the Patriots broke Thursday night, it got a positive response.
“Love it,” was the text message one veteran Patriot sent over when the deal was announced.
That reaction came in conjunction with at least one of his teammates, who took to social media to express their emotions.
