On a Sunday where the Patriots weren’t playing, here are five quick thoughts on how things played out around the league from a New England perspective.
1. The Chiefs also don’t look anywhere as formidable as they did over the first five weeks of the regular season. It’s hard to tell if they are a good team that has just lost its mojo for a brief spell (with three losses in four games) or if their recent losses are part of a bigger issue. But a middle-of-the-road Cowboys’ team put it on them pretty good Sunday, coming away with a 28-17 win in Dallas. Kansas City had a 17-14 lead early in the third, but a pair of second-half Dallas touchdowns (and Alex Smith’s first interception of the season) did them in. Kareem Hunt had nine carries for 37 yards. Tyreek Hill had two catches, one of which came just before the half and somehow turned into a touchdown. There was also this interesting note, which certainly bears watching going forward.
