MILWAUKEE -- The Bucks will be going old school for Thursday's nationally televised matchup against the Celtics on TNT. Not only will they be playing in the Mecca, the Bucks' old arena that is next door to the Bradley Center, the teams will be playing on a replica of the home court of the Bucks played on from 1977-1987 at the Mecca.
While the visual of the court will make it a memorable night for Milwaukee fans and viewers, Kyrie Irving isn't exactly thrilled with the change of scenery.
"I'm all about safety," Irving said at shootaround Thursday morning. "We'll see how it is on my knees, see how it is on everyone's bodies. I know this is a pretty older court and it looks like it's freshly painted as well. I'm just going to do my assessment and go from there."
When a reporter brought up the fact that the court was actually a new one that was just freshly painted, that didn't seem to do much to ease Irving's fears.
"It took me three steps to realize this is not the same NBA court I'm used to playing on," he said. "We'll see what's up."
