This week, we have the Chiefs holding steady, the Panthers, Rams and Jags on the rise, while the Steelers are among those tumbling down the big board.
1. Chiefs (5-0 — last week, No. 1): The 1972 Dolphins shouldn’t be worried, but as we said earlier in the week, this is the best team in football right now. Next week: vs. Steelers.
2. Packers (4-1 — last week, No. 2): That defense is a little shaky, but when you have Aaron Rodgers under center, like Tom Brady, he can paper over an awful lot of deficiencies. Next week: at Vikings.
3. Falcons (3-1 — last week, No. 4): We were left a little shaken by that loss to Buffalo, but this still feels like a top five team that will get it all figured out sooner rather than later. Next week: at Dolphins.
4. Patriots (3-2 — last week, No. 5): If they keep Stephon Gilmore in man coverage all year and Don’t Hightower stays healthy in the middle, that defense might have found something. Next week: at Jets.
5. Eagles (4-1 — last week, No. 7): There are many reasons to like this Eagles team, but this week, we’re going to go with the baseball-themed touchdown celebration.
