BSJ Daily Briefing 10.09.17: Sox still living, MLB looks terrible taken at BSJ Headquarters (Regular Features)

(Bob DeChiara/USA TODAY Sports)

Well, we got our answer about the 2017 Red Sox: the regular season was no fluke, these guys always fight back.

Down 2-0 in the series, and down 3-0 in the game after another terrible first inning from a starter, the Red Sox could have folded and made their golf course reservations in some warmer locale.

And then they came to life.

Devers.

So the Red Sox live for at least another day.

On that topic, it's categorically absurd that Major League Baseball didn't determine the start time of Sox-Astros Game 4 until nearly 11 p.m. last night, when a Yankees victory over the Indians assured that the Bronx would host the prime-time game.

I mean, where is the concern for the fans? There's kind of a huge difference between a 1 and 7 p.m start. Some fans — nevermind the players — are probably waking up this morning and determining whether or not they'll skip work, or get a babysitter or whatever due to the early start time. Can you imagine the NFL pulling something like this?

I get the whole TV aspect, but the fans and the turnstiles are keeping baseball alive, not TV.

A few reminders:

And away we go...
