Bruins send Fitzgerald, Lauzon to Providence

The Bruins assigned forward Ryan Fitzgerald and defenseman Jeremy Lauzon to the Providence Bruins of the AHL, the team announced Tuesday.



Fitzgerald opened some eyes during camp and that's why he was given another opportunity to play in Monday's 4-2 win over the Chicago Blackhawks at TD Garden. The rookie will be able to develop his pro game with the P-Bruins and it's going to be an interesting transition for him. He plays with a lot of heart for all 200 feet.

 

It took Lauzon a bit to get going and he finally played well against the Blackhawks. He's better when he's engaged physically and he showed that on Monday.

"He’s a fun kid to watch, because he’s got a lot of passion for the game, very competitive," said Bruins coach Bruce Cassidy after the Bruins' win over Chicago.

The Bruins are excited about his projected development.

"I love to play hockey, I just want to make a career out of it and if it’s not this year, maybe next year or the year after. I want to show the coaches and the management how I can play in this league and how good a hockey player I am."
