Here are a few observations from the afternoon session
- Brad Marchand never disappoints with his compete level during practices. Young players should take notice and learn from it.
- Frank Vatrano, also known for his high bursts of energy, buried Charlie McAvoy during battle drills.
- When there are so many players on the ice, it can be difficult for goalies to stop the puck and that's exactly what happened with Zane McIntyre.
- Tuukka Rask had a net land on him during battle drills and was fine.
- McAvoy returned the favor and nearly put JFK through the boards and into the front row.
- Anders Bjork looks good with Patrice Bergeron and Brad Marchand. The difference is having a left-handed shot on Bergeron's right side. Former Bergeron wingers Tyler Seguin and David Pastrnak were both right-handed, while Mark Recchi and Reilly Smith were lefties. Having a lefty on the right side forces Bergeron to pass the puck on his linemate's backhand.
