BUFFALO, N.Y. –The Bruins finished with a 9-3 victory over the Devils at the Prospects Challenge at HarborCenter.

Observations after the third period

  • Besides his three goals, forward Danton Heinen played well in all aspects.

  • Not only is forward Anders Bjork a great skater, he has a great shot too. It’s no surprise that he impressed during the tournament. He would work well on the right side with Patrice Bergeron and Brad Marchand.

Observations

  • Defenseman Jakub Zbroil has been a bit inconsistent this weekend. It would be good to see him more engaged on a consistent basis.

  • Defenseman Rob O’Gara is steady. He does a solid job of keeping opponents to the outside in the defensive zone.

  • Forward Justin Hickman has a big shot when he’s given time and space to unload.

Observations after the first period

  • Bjork is so smooth. He’s on the receiving end of a lot of hits but that’s because he possesses the puck a lot.

  • Forward Justin Hickman is a high-energy player. I’ve really liked his game this weekend.

  • Forward Jakob Forsbacka-Karlsson reminds me of P.J. Axelsson on the penalty kill.

  • Forward Jack Studnicka has impressed this weekend. He scored a short-handed goal in the first period.

  • Forward Jesse Gabrielle also scored. Fans in Providence are going to love this guy.

  • Jake DeBrusk and Zach Senyshyn are building chemistry on the same line. The pair connected on a goal in the first.

  • Defenseman Matt Grzelcyk has great vision with the puck.

  • Forward Danton Heinen has the ability to make an impact in Boston this season.
