FOXBOROUGH — Malcolm Mitchell was back at practice Tuesday afternoon as the Patriots continued to prep for their preseason finale against the Giants.
The receiver isn’t expected to play against New York, but the fact that he was on the field represents a positive for the young pass catcher, who has struggled to be out there consistently all summer because of a knee issue.
Players missing at the start of practice included Julian Edelman, Nate Ebner, Christian Kuntz, Harvey Langi, Shea McClellin, Tony Garcia, and Derek Rivers. New linebacker Marquis Flowers appear likely to be the one who will replace Kuntz on the roster -- he was acquired earlier in the day in a trade with the Bengals.
