Should the Bruins retire Rick Middleton's No. 16? taken at BSJ Headquarters (Bruins)

Boston Bruins

The New York Rangers and Philadelphia Flyers both announced Monday the dates when they will retire jersey numbers this season.

The Rangers will send Jean Ratelle’s No. 19 to the rafters of Madison Square Garden on Feb. 25. The Flyers will retire Eric Lindros’ No. 88 on Jan. 18, 2018 at Wells Fargo Center.

The Bruins have 10 retired numbers, the most in the NHL: Eddie Shore (2), Lionel Hitchman (3), Bobby Orr (4), Dit Clapper (5), Phil Esposito (7), Cam Neely (8), John Bucyk (9), Milt Schmidt (15), Terry O’Reilly (24) and Ray Bourque (77).

Is there room for another?

If so, who?

I’d go with Rick Middleton’s No. 16. Nifty’s career was impressive. He registered 898 points in 881 games. He's not in the Hall of Fame but he should have a banner in the rafters of TD Garden.

Let’s discuss.
