"Practice" report 08.09.17 taken at Gillette Stadium (Patriots)

(Bob DeChiara/USA TODAY Sports)

FOXBOROUGH — This wasn't really a practice on Wednesday, it was just a walkthrough with the Jaguars. Not much went on, but it was notable to see who was or wasn't on the field, and who's playing where:

QUICK HITS

  • Garcia was back on the field for a while, but did leave at one point.

  • WR Devin Lucien went to work on the lower field. That could be an indication that he's not in the mix for Thursday night's game. That would be a big disappointment because he's had an excellent camp.

  • Jonathan Jones got the first reps at third cornerback. With Rowe out, Justin Coleman was next up.

  • Looks for the "Young Buck" defensive line of Derek Rivers, Deatrich Wise, Adam Butler and Trey Flowers to get some work together.

  • One thing I've neglected to point out so far is that sixth-round pick Conor McDermott has been doing a really good job and improves with every practice. That's going to make things very interesting in the final cutdowns. Won't wow you, just very solid with his fundamentals. Keep an eye on him Thursday night.
