FOXBOROUGH -- The Patriots are back on the field Friday morning, and the BSJ crew is on the scene. Let's see how practice goes.
• Defensive line Deatrich Wise and wide receiver Tony Washington were first on the field this morning.
• Left tackle Nate Solder, wide receiver Matthew Slater and wide receiver Cody Hollister aren't present at the start of things. Solder was MIA on Thursday, while Slater and Hollister have been dinged up the last few days. And Mike Gillislee, James O'Shaughnessy, Malcolm Mitchell and Duron Harmon were part of a group that headed down to the lower fields shortly after practice started.
• Looks like we're going to get an intra-squad scrimmage. Teams appear to be divided up into No. 1 (white jerseys) and No. 2 offense (blue jerseys) and No. 1 (blue) and No. 2 defense (white).
• Interesting to see long snapper Joe Cardona, punter Ryan Allen and kicker Stephen Gostkowski in red, non-contact jerseys as things get started. Maybe it's an extra reminder for guys in the scrimmage later to make sure they don't hit these guys? We shall see.
Scrimmage
Team Brady leads 13-3 after three possessions each side.
- Brady was 4-of-4 on the first drive, and finished the first half 10-for-12, with one incomplete. (The other one came along the sidelines when Dwayne Allen tried to tip-toe to stand inbounds, but he didn't make it.)
- Wise and Langi alternating at left end.
- Eric Rowe opened as third corner.
- Lawrence Guy had a sack against Shaq Mason.
- LaAdrian Waddle was the LT with Nate Solder out.
- Big play so far as Brady up top to Brandin Cooks, who came down with the ball basically on the back/helmet of Stephon Gilmore.
- David Harris and Shea McClellin opened as the ILBs.
- Ted Karras came in for Shaq Mason at RG on second possession.
- Brady's been holding the ball a while. No Julian Edelman, Danny Amendola or Chris Hogan in the scrimmage.
- Jacoby Brissett got one rep -- a kneeldown at the end of the first half.
- Stephen Gostkowski missed a field goal.
- Joe Thuney is leaving the field with a medical staff member.
- After a Jacoby Brissett fumble from center, Garoppolo's team made a field goal to make it 13-6.
- Wise with a strip sack of Brissett against Waddle. Wise has been all over the place again.
- Garoppolo is 2-for-7 on this latest drive, including a really poorly thrown ball into the end zone.
- It's 13-9 now, which Belichick just confirmed on the field.
- Brissett with a 50-yard bomb TD to Devin Lucien over Will Likely. Now it's 20-9 Team Brady/Brissett.
- Wise and Adam Butler are feeling the rush right now.
- Final 20-12.
- Rough practice for Garoppolo.
