Guess that difference wasn't that big after all.
Just two days after it looked like the Bruins and center Ryan Spooner would be heading to arbitration with a difference of $1.85 million between their respective offers, the two sides compromised and the 25-year-old is in the fold for another year.
According to Elliotte Friedman of Hockey Night in Canada, Spooner and the Bruins agreed $2.825 million was a good middle ground. In their opening offers, Spooner was seeking $3.825 million; the Bruins saw his value at $2 million.
Getting this out of the way allows the Bruins to proceed on an extension with David Pastrnak, and possibly some minor free-agent moves.
