FINAL: Bruins 3, Ducks 1 - Poitras' 2 goals sends Boston to 5-0
The Bruins defeated the Anaheim Ducks 3-1 Sunday night at the Honda Center to improve to 5-0 on the young season.
The Bruins looked a little sluggish early on the second night of a back-to-back and the game was scoreless after the first two periods. Mason McTavish got the scoring started to put Anaheim up 1-0 at 5:05 into the third period.
Matthew Poitras was the star in this one as he scored his first NHL goal 6:29 into the third period to tie the game at one. Poitras' goal came a 1:24 after McTavish scored for Anaheim. Poitras scored his second goal later in the third period to put the Bruins ahead 2-1 and did not look back.

"He competes and believes in himself. He always hangs onto pucks to make plays on offense," Jim Montgomery told reporters after the game.
Brad Marchand added the cherry on top with an empty net goal to make it 3-1 Boston. Linus Ullmark performed well in net for Boston with 31 saves.
The Bruins will be back in action on Tuesday as they will continue their road trip in Chicago to face the Blackhawks with puck drop set for 8:30 p.m. ET.

- Jake DeBrusk returns to the lineup for Boston tonight after being a healthy scratch Saturday night due to missing a team meeting.
- Brad Marchand enters the game tonight after scoring twice on Los Angeles the game prior. David Pastrnak also enters tonight coming off a three-point game in Los Angeles. Pasternak has given Anaheim problems in years past as he has recorded 10 goals in 14 career matchups.
- On the other hand, Anaheim enters tonight after a 2-1 loss Saturday night in Arizona which dropped them to 1-3-0 in this young season.
- The Bruins will be facing former teammate Frank Vetrano. Vetrano has gotten off to a hot start with four goals in the first four games of the season. That is the most for an Anaheim player since Corey Perry in the 2013-2014 season.
