PREGAME NOTES
Jeremy Swayman will get the start once again, with the rookie set to face his toughest test of the season against the NHL’s top squad (points-wise) in the Avalanche.
Derek Forbort will slot back into the lineup after getting scratched on Saturday against the Senators. Urho Vaakanainen will skate on the right side next to Forbort, while Connor Clifton will be scratched.
Boston’s forward corps will remain the same after Saturday’s win over Ottawa.
Colorado recorded its 14th win in 16 games (14-1-1) and seventh in as many road contests with a 5-3 victory over the Buffalo Sabres on Saturday afternoon.Nathan MacKinnon, J.T. Compher and Nazem Kadri each scored a goal in the first period Saturday. Boston College product Alex Newhook scored his fourth game-winning goal of the season at the 8:37 mark. Mikko Rantanen notched an assist on that goal before sealing the win with an empty-net goal.
