PREGAME NOTES
Jeremy Swayman will get the start in net for Boston on Tuesday — his second consecutive outing. The rookie netminder posted a shutout against Ottawa on Saturday afternoon.
After missing Saturday’s game against the Senators, Matt Grzelcyk is expected back in the lineup for Tuesday’s contest.
Patrice Bergeron will miss his third straight game on Tuesday, but the Bruins captain could rejoin the team on Thursday against the Islanders.
Cassidy said that he believes Brad Marchand will be in New York City on Wednesday to have the appeal of his six-game suspension heard by NHL commissioner Gary Bettman.
This will be the Rangers’ first game since Feb. 1. The Rangers claimed the first meeting against the Bruins when they scored three times in the third period of a 5-2 win at Boston on Nov. 26.
