Final: Yankees 4, Red Sox 2

For the second straight day, the Red Sox flashed some offense early, then saw their bats go quiet, as they dropped a 4-2 decision to the New York Yankees.

The Sox took a 2-0 lead on a two-run homer from Alex Verdugo in the second, but didn't score again and managed just two hits over the final seven innings.

Meanwhile, the Yankees used a two-run shot from Anthony Rizzo in the fourth to tie it and another one from Giancarlo Stanton -- both off starter Nick Pivetta -- and the bullpen made those two homers stand up.
