PREGAME NOTES

After beating the Blue Jackets, 5-2, on Saturday night at TD Garden — the Bruins will be right back at it on Monday night with another matchup with Columbus at Nationwide Arena. 

Josh Brown will slot back into the lineup and will replace Derek Forbort on Boston’s third D pairing. Linus Ullmark will get the start in net. 

This stands as the start of Boston’s longest remaining road trip of the regular season. 

"Four wins would be ideal," Bruce Cassidy said of the team's outlook leading into this trip. "Just keep building our game. Obviously want to get as detailed as possible, as clean as possible. We'll also try to manage some workloads as well. 

“We have pretty much a healthy group. A little bit nicked up, so keep guys in the lineup without them having to go too long without playing.  "There's a little bit of that thought process especially with a back-to-back…we want to keep playing winning hockey and building on what we've done here recently."

Forbort’s absence on Monday is due to a nagging lower-body injury, while Craig Smith will play despite fighting through an upper-body issue. 

Columbus has lost six straight games.
