PREGAME NOTES:
- Taking to the TD Garden ice for the first time since the second week of June, the Bruins will roll out close to a full lineup in their third preseason game — with usual suspects such as Patrice Bergeron, Brad Marchand, David Pastrnak, Taylor Hall, Charlie McAvoy and more all getting the green light for game action. "Tonight is the first go for our main guys," Bruce Cassidy said. "We put them all on the lines that they're comfortable with and then we may mix and match as we go. There's not a ton of time. I'm not worried about Bergy's line, they've been together a long time. It's the other three combinations, there's some newness…practice will help, the 10 days [between the preseason and the opener], but there's nothing like live action to do it."
- Jeremy Swayman is set to get the start in net for Boston, with the rookie stopping 18 of 19 shots in his preseason debut against the Capitals on Sunday. With Charlie Coyle still not cleared for game action quite yet, Jack Studnicka will slot in at 2C between Taylor Hall and Craig Smith.
