The Red Sox suffered their most lopsided loss of the year, losing to the New York Yankees, 14-1.

The Sox took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first on a solo homer from Rafael Devers. Xander Bogaerts then singled, the last hit the Red Sox had until Kevin Plawecki had a two-out double in the ninth. The Sox didn't have another baserunner until a two-out walk to Jackie Bradley Jr. in the eighth.

Matt Carpenter and Aaron Judge both had two homers each, with Carpenter knocking in seven runs.

Nick Pivetta turned in his third straight poor start, rocked for seven runs in 4.1 innings.
