Final: Red Sox 9, Tigers 7 (

What looked like it was going to be a comfortable win in, stead turned into a nailbiter thanks to the Red Sox bullpen.

Finally, Hansel Robles restored control, getting out of a bases-loaded jam in the eighth and then turning back the Tigers in the ninth to preserve a 9-7 victory over the Detroit Tigers.

The Sox exploded for six runs in the fourth as they sent 10 hitters to the plate and belted three consecutive doubles. Jackie Bradley Jr. had three RBI and Kike Hernandez added two more.

But the Tigers clawed back at the Sox bullpen, with two runs in the seventh and three more in the eighth before the comeback effort was finally thwarted.
