After jumping to a 2-0 lead after just five batters, the Red Sox offense stalled badly, collecting just two hits over the final seven innings, resulting in a 5-2 loss to the Tampa Bay Rays.

Rays starter Shane McClanahan recovered after the first to go six more shutout innings.

The Rays got all the runs need would need with three in the fifth, then added solo runs in both the sixth and seventh innings. Ji-Man Choi supplied a two-run double in the fifth, while Yandy Diaz added a solo homer later.
