Final: Red Sox 6, Blue Jays 5 (10)
After blowing yet another late-inning lead, the Red Sox found they're not the only team with bullpen issues.
Tied 3-3 heading into extra-innings, the Sox drew two walks and a hit batsman to go up by a run, then got a huge two-run double from Alex Verdugo to post a 6-5 win 10 innings, snapping a two-game losing streak and avoiding a series sweep.
Verdugo had a two-run homer in the sixth to put the Sox ahead in the sixth before the Jays rallied off Ryan Brasier in the eighth, Boston's 16th blown save of the season.
Matt Strahm closed it out with two innings of relief, but not before allowing two runs in the bottom of the 10th.
Nick Pivetta out-dueled Alek Manoah, pitching into the sixth and allowing just two runs.
