Final: Red Sox 11, Diamondbacks 1 - All nine starters record RBI's in Red Sox win

The Boston Red Sox win the first game of their series against the Arizona Diamondback 11-1.

Both teams pitched a bullpen game tonight, and the Red Sox dominated on both sides of the field with every starter for Boston picking up an RBI.

Clutch situational hitting gave the Red Sox an early lead, as Boston recorded four RBI hits between the second and fourth innings. Eli White, Nick Sogard, Caleb Durbin and Ceddanne Rafaela each recorded RBI hits throughout this span to give Boston four runs through the fourth inning.

Boston added three additional runs in the fifth inning headlined by a Willson Contreras solo home run to left field.

Wilyer Abreu and Adley Rutschman picked up RBI hits in the sixth inning, and Mickey Gasper smacked a solo home run past the Pesky Pole in the seventh for Boston's 10th run of the game. Abreu capped off Boston's successful night at the plate with another RBI base hit in the seventh inning. 

In total, the Red Sox recorded 16 hits (nine XBH's) against the Diamondbacks, and on the mound, Brayan Bello picked up the win, pitching 4.2 innings and allowing Arizona's lone run.

The Red Sox will continue their series tomorrow at 7:10 p.m. with Ranger Suarez on the mound.

The Boston Red Sox return home to face the Arizona Diamondbacks in a bullpen battle to start the series.

Boston will have a bullpen game against the Diamondbacks in Monday’s series opener with lefty Alec Gamboa starting, the team announced. The expectation is that righty Brayan Bello will play a meaningful long relief role following Gamboa against Arizona.

The Red Sox have scratched Jahami Jones, who is dealing with left hip tightness.

The Red Sox promoted right-handed reliever Wyatt Olds from Triple-A Worcester on Monday and optioned left-hander Raymond Burgos. Olds was a seventh round draft pick by the Red Sox in 2021.
