BSJ Live Coverage: Patriots roster cuts 2026 - Patriots trade RB Corey Kiner, OT Walter Rouse

The Patriots have begun making roster cuts to meet the 53-man limit by Sunday's 6 p.m. deadline.

BEDARD'S 53

GIARDI'S 53

Our disagreements:

QB: Behren Morton. Giardi is a yes, Bedard a no.

G/C: Ben Brown. Giardi put him on IR (who is he, God? (yes)), Bedard has him on the 53.

Edge: Harold Landry. Giardi has him on PUP (oh, you think so, doctor? Maybe I am...), Bedard has him on the 53.

Edge: Bradyn Swinson. Bedard a yes, Giardi a no (Giardi, right again).

LB: Namdi Obiazor. Giardi a yes, Bedard a no (not all of us were putting eight guys on PUP/IR to open up roster spots so everyone could get a trophy (sounds like someone didn't think this through)).

We'll be posting the cuts down below with any commentary on surprising moves.

BSJ ANALYSIS

RB Lan Larison. Seems ticketed for practice squad.

T/G James Hudson

RB Jam Miller. Waived with an injury designation

DT Jeremiah Pharms

LB Chad Muma. Was a core special teamer late last year.

G Joe Michalski.

TE Jack Westover. Practice squad candidate

DT Eric Gregory. Had him in (GiardI) but if the Pats wisely make the call to DaQuan Jones, I had him out.

Edge Bradyn Swinson. Just didn't show enough, and there was plenty of opportunity with that position being thin.

G Mekhi Butler

RB Hassan Haskins

RB JaMychal Hasty

CB Marcellas Dial. Drake Maye is now the only player left from the team's disastrous 2024 draft under Eliot Wolf.

WR Cameron Dorner.

WR Nick DeGennaro. Would like to see him on the practice squad.

G/C Darian Dalcourt.

OT Lorenz Metz.

S Eric Butler (injured).

TE CJ Dippre.

ED Amari Gainer.

WR Kyle Dixon. Good chance at the practice squad.

CB Brandon Crossley.

ED Xavier Holmes.

C Jacoby Rizy. Could land on practice squad.

LB Riley Wilson.

OL JonDarius Morgan.

S Peter Manuma.

ED Jesse Luketa.

• Patriots have sent a 2028 seventh-round pick (maybe the Saints pick from the Kayshon Boutte trade?) to the Cardinals for RB Corey Kiner, according to Adam Schefter.

Played four games last season with 12 rushes for 58 yards, and caught 2 of 3 targets for 15 yards.
