BEDARD'S TOP MATCHUPS, KEYS TO THE GAME AND GAME PICK
TOP MATCHUPS
• RG Ben Brown vs. DT Deone Walker: Congrats on the start, Ben Brown ... now go block one of the best young DTs in the game. He's big, strong and fast. He's a gamewrecker. Jared Wilson is going to be tilting to him all day.
• WR DeMario Douglas vs. CB Dee Alford: Alford is one of the worst slot corners in the game. This could ... finally ... be the Pop Douglas breakout game.
• RT Morgan Moses vs. DE Gregory Rousseau: He leads the league in sacks, with two in each game, and he's very talented and long. But, he's also very undisciplined and the Patriots figure to run at him. Moses battled through a foot injury last week and wasn't great. He needs to be better this week.
• DT Milton Williams vs. LG Alec Anderson: This is almost a repeat of last week, when Williams should have had a dominating game against a weaker opponent. With no Barmore, Patriots need Williams to dominate this week.
• S Craig Woodson vs. TE Dalton Kincaid: Bills will play a lot of TEs, and they are all good in their own way, but Kincaid is Josh Allen's guy. I expect Woodson to go, and he needs to play really well.
• DE Gabe Jacas vs. QB Josh Allen: Jacas has showed a lot of discipline to start his rookie season, but this is another challenge. Jacas can't let Allen get out the front side of the pocket.
KEYS TO THE GAME
- Take care of the football, Drake, Part 4.
- Don't let Allen kill you with the second and third play.
- Watch the TEs in the red zone.
- TAKE CARE OF THE FREAKING FOOTBALL.
BEDARD'S GAME PICK
Season: 3-0 straight up, 2-1 spread.
Line: Bills -7. O/U: 50.5
I do think Drake Maye has a chance to play much better because this is the simplest and least talented defense he has seen to this point. But none of us has any idea what we're going to see from Maye, so deeper analysis really isn't needed. Good Maye gives them a chance. Bad Maye gets them blown out for the second straight week. Until I see it on the field, I can't pick it.
Bills 30, Patriots 20.
