Final: Orioles 5, Red Sox 3 - Mullins Hits Two Homers as Orioles Defeat Red Sox
Trevor's Game Notes:
Dry Bats: The Red Sox didn't get much offense out of their lineup today compared to yesterday's 12 run win against Baltimore. Orioles' starter Albert Suarez allowed 1 earned run and struck out 8 Red Sox batters during 6 innings on the mound. The Red Sox managed to generate some offense in the 8th inning with the help from a balk and an RBI single for Masataka Yoshida.
Multi-homer Game: All star outfielder Cedric Mullins was the main catalyst on offense for the Orioles. In his first two at-bats in the game (1st and 3rd inning), Mullins hit a solo home run and 2-run home run that gave Baltimore an eary 3-0 lead. Baltimore would then secure their lead in the 7th inning from an Adley Rutschman RBI single with the bases loaded, putting the game out of reach for Boston.
The Red Sox will finish their series against Baltimore tomorrow at 7:10 p.m.

Rob Refsnyder and Tyler O'Neill last night hit back-to-back HR in both the 3rd and 8th innings. They became the 2nd pair of teammates in Red Sox history to hit back-to-back HR multiple times in a single game, joining Mo Vaughn and Tim Naehring on 4/19/1994 (2nd and 6th innings)(source: Elias).
Last night was O'Neill's 7th multi-homer game of the season, tying Yordan Alvarez for most in the Majors. O'Neill's 7 multi-HR games are the most by a Red Sox player since David Ortiz recorded 9 in 2005, and are tied for the 3rd most in a season in club history.
