PREGAME NOTES
Boston is looking to get back on track after its 10-game win streak came to an end at the hands of the Edmonton Oilers on Thursday.
Connor Clifton could return to the lineup after being scratched against the Oilers, returning to the third pair at practice on Friday, while Derek Forbort rotated in. Tyler Bertuzzi skated on the second line left wing, swapping with Pavel Zacha. Linus Ullmark is expected to start after Jeremy Swayman made 22 saves against Edmonton.
Despite the Boston Globe reporting Friday that Taylor Hall could be nearing a return, Jim Montgomery said the hope is Hall will be ready for the playoffs.
Detroit ended a six-game losing streak with a 4-3 win over the Chicago Blackhawks on Wednesday.
Robby Fabbri is not expected to play this weekend after an apparent knee injury against Chicago. He has previously undergone three ACL surgeries. The Red Wings recalled Austin Czarnik, a former Bruin, from AHL Grand Rapids on an emergency basis on Friday. Pius Suter will swap in for David Perron as the left wing on the first line, while Perron moves to the right side of the second line.
