Final: Oilers 4, Bruins 0 - Bruins lose 5th straight game getting shut out by Oilers
The Bruins have now lost their fifth game in a row getting shutout by the Edmonton Oilers 4-0. Once again, the same problems Boston has faced was showcased in this shutout loss.
In the first period, the Oilers came up to a 1-0 lead with Adam Henrique getting the first goal. Boston struggled to gain possession of the puck in their defensive zone, and the Oilers delivered a pass behind the net to a trailing Henrique resulting in the first goal of the game.

In the second period, Trent Frederic tried to spark energy in the Bruins by fighting Corey Perry, but even failed. Frederic received an additional two minute roughing call before the fight, and Connor McDavid scored a breakaway goal on the power play for the second goal of the game.

Later in the period, Henrique scored his second goal of the game. The Bruins failed to break the puck out of their own zone, and Henrique was able to get the puck on his stick in the slot firing the third goal of the game for Edmonton.

The Bruins spent more time in the offensive zone in their final period, but that wasn't enough for them to get a goal in this game. Edmonton went on to score an empty net goal with five minutes left in the game, handing Boston their fifth consecutive loss.
The Bruins were severely outshot in this game allowing 39 shots on their goalie Jeremy Swayman. Their inability to break the puck out of their own zone resulted in constant pressure by the reigning Western Conference champions.
Along with that, there was no physicality for Boston in this game. The Bruins barely attempted any hits which made it easy for the Oilers to hold onto the puck and win puck battles in the corners. Another brutal loss for a team that is currently going through its worst stretch of the season.
Boston will now travel to Florida taking on the Tampa Bay Lighting on Thursday. Puck drop is at 7 p.m.
