PREGAME NOTES

Monday might stand as the most anticipated game so far during the 2022-23 NHL season, with the top teams in the Eastern and Western Conference set to battle at TD Garden.

Of course, most of the storyline from Monday’s bout will revolve around Bruce Cassidy’s return to TD Garden, with the longtime B’s bench boss looking to hand his former team its first loss on home ice this season. 

The Bruins will stick with the same lineup that beat down the Colorado Avalanche on Saturday evening — with Jim Montgomery opting to not announce his starter in net. 

Golden Knights franchise center Jack Eichel will be a game-time decision due to a lower-body injury, while Alex Pietrangelo will miss his fourth straight game due to personal reasons.
