The difference in the game was Boston giving up thee unanswered goals in less than four minutes in the third period. The Bruins committed eight penalties which also played a big factor in the loss tonight.

"It's hockey.  Sometimes you have the bounces, sometimes you don't," Linus Ullmark told reporters after the game.

The first period was dominated by Boston as the Bruins performed well at full strength and took a 1-0 5:19 into the first period as James Van Riemsdyk scored his fourth goal on the year. Matt Poitras made it 2-0 Boston at the 10:28 mark. Detroit answered back to cut the lead in half when Lucas Raymond scored his fourth goal of the season to make it 2-1.

David Pastrnak answered at the 14:11 mark in the third to make it 5-4, but it was not enough.
