Jake DeBrusk will not play Saturday night against the Los Angeles Kings, after he was late to a meeting, Jim Montgomery told reporters. Patrick Brown, 31, will replace him.
DeBrusk, 27, had 27 goals and 50 points last season as Boston secured the No. 1 seed in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. This season he has zero points.
Montgomery replaced DeBrusk with Milan Lucic, who is up from the fourth line. Jakub Lauko, the No. 4 right wing, went to the left side. Brown will make his team debut as the No. 4 right wing.
