St. Louis responded at the 6:07 mark thanks to a Kevin Hayes goal to tie it at one. Boston’s defense as a whole in the first was not great as the Blues were able to get across the ice moving the puck pretty easily.
The second period saw Charlie McAvoy give the Bruins a 2-1 lead at the 6:26 mark. Boston was outshooting the Blues 7-1 at one point in the second period. However, the Blues tied it up on the power play at the 10:57 mark on a Jake Neighbours goal.
The Bruins took a 3-2 lead at the 7:43 mark in the third period on the power play when Marchand scored his second goal of the night.

PREGAME NOTES
The Bruins conclude their four-game Western Conference road trip in St Louis to face the Blues tonight at 8 p.m. ET. Pavel Zacha did not participate in morning skate due to an illness and is a game-time decision. Linus Ullmark returned to the ice this morning after leaving the game on Tuesday in Arizona.
“Really good sign,” Jim Montgomery told reporters this morning. “He’s progressing faster than we anticipated. It’s his first day on the ice so he’s starting his process towards being a player again,” Montgomery continued.
Parker Wotherspoon has worked his way up the Boston depth chart thanks to injuries and Charlie McAvoy being suspended. Wotherspoon has played in 11 games since December 15th and has shown lots of grit and dependability. Wotherspoon averages 2:46 of shorthanded time on ice, which is fifth on the Bruins behind Derek Forbort (3:34), Brandon Carlo (3:28), Hampus Lindholm (2:52) and Charlie Coyle (2:51).
Boston faces a St. Louis team that is coming off a 5-2 win over the New York Rangers on Thursday night. Robert Thomas leads the Blues with 16 goals and 43 points in 40 games. St. Louis fired head coach Craig Berube and replaced him with Drew Bannister back in mid-December. The Blues have won six of its last 10 games.
