FOXBOROUGH - If you were hoping for good news about A.J. Brown’s availability, today wasn’t that day.
Mike Vrabel said the wide receiver would not practice and wasn’t interested in offering more details about his overall concern for Brown’s health/availability.
“My concern is about trying to prepare for the Packers,” he said, undoubtedly trying to get off the subject. “That's really my only concern: is trying to figure out what we do today on first and second down and how we practice and how we can carry over the second half of last week's football game, where we looked like somewhat of the expectations that I would expect us to look like. Those are my concerns, and trying to figure that out.
“And then, you know, certainly the health of the team is critical, but you know we have to make sure that the guys that are practicing are preparing for Green Bay.”
Considering Brown missed four games with a high-ankle sprain, got overloaded playing two games and 101 snaps over five days, and is now MIA with a recurrence of his chronic knee issue, I’d say Vrabel’s public stance doesn’t match what the fan base feels.
That said, in conversations with those in the building, I haven't detected
