PREGAME NOTES

After getting struck by a puck during Tuesday's loss to the Devils, Charlie Coyle will not play tonight and is currently day-to-day with an upper-body injury. The third-line winger has not been ruled out for games later this week, although that might depend on if Coyle is cleared for practice on Friday. With Coyle out, Jake DeBrusk will slot into the 3RW spot, while Trent Frederic will skate on the fourth line.

Jeremy Swayman will get the start in net on Thursday, with Bruce Cassidy noting that the plan is for Tuukka Rask to get another start Saturday in Boston's rematch against the Rangers.

New York is coming off the second leg of a back-to-back slate — with the Blueshirts embroiled in a heavyweight bout with the Capitals on Wednesday night. Pavel Buchnevich was handed a one-game suspension by the NHL on Thursday for cross-checking Anthony Mantha during the contest. Tom Wilson, meanwhile, comes out of that series with just a $5,000 fine.
