Jayson Tatum scored a team-high 27 points and Jaylen Brown added a double-double (18 points, 10 rebounds) as the Celtics held off a late charge from the Warriors to hold on for a 111-107 victory. Stephen Curry had a game-high 38 points in the win but most of his damage came in the first quarter as the C’s defense tightened up in the final three periods to start the road trip with the win. Grant Williams added 15 points off the bench (3-of-3 from 3-point range) to provide a critical scoring boost as well against a shorthanded Warriors team that were down their top two bigs due to injury in Kevon Looney and James Wiseman.

The C’s go for their second straight win on Wednesday night in Sacramento with Kemba Walker and Payton Pritchard’s availability uncertain.
