NBA postpones Celtics-Magic game on Wednesday night, tightens COVID-19 protocols

The NBA announced on Tuesday afternoon that the Celtics-Magic game scheduled for Wednesday night at TD Garden has been postponed. It’s the third straight cancellation of a Celtics game this week and the second time a postponement has occurred due to a lack of a league-mandated eight healthy available players for Boston. Wednesday’s game will be made up at a later date. It is the fifth game the NBA has postponed this season.

As written about on BSJ on Monday, this latest postponement comes as no surprise. Boston had seven players in the NBA’s health and safety protocols as of Sunday and that left the Celtics with the league minimum eight players available with Kemba Walker (knee) and Romeo Langford (wrist) still sidelined. With at least one more player entering NBA health and safety protocols in the last 24 hours, the C’s fell short of the eight players needed to field a team, leading to postponements for the Bulls and Magic game.
