FINAL: Rams 24, Patriots 3 – Cam Newton (pick-6), offense goes nowhere again as playoffs slip away

This was a TKO.

Once Kenny Young returned a Cam Newton screen pass 79 yards for a touchdown to make it 17-0 with 14:46 left in the second quarter, this was all but over.

Patriots only gained 3.8 yards per play.

Newton finished 9 of 16 for 119 yards and a 53.9 rating.

Jarrett Stidham replaced Newton very late in the fourth quarter when the game was all but over. He was 5 of 7 for 27 yards and a 77.7 rating.

The defense doesn't get off the hook as they allowed rookie back Cam Akers to rush 29 times for 171 yards.

At 6-7, the Patriots now need to win out and hope for a ton of help.

Oh, and they need to figure out who the QB is. With 10 days before the next game, starting Stidham would seem to be the move.
