BSJ Weekend Briefing 10.09.20: Patriots pushed to Monday; Tom Brady, Bucs lose to Bears … and track of downs

(Adam Richins for BSJ)

Good afternoon!

Your daily rundown of what's going on with the Patriots, Red Sox, Celtics, Bruins and Revolution, and what's about to happen ...

  • The Patriots-Broncos game has been pushed to 5 p.m. Monday at Gillette.
  • The team still isn't practicing today. It's believed that they may try tomorrow, but it can't be ruled out that Bill Belichick might send some sort of message to the NFL by not practicing before playing on Monday.
  • I don't know, we're through the looking glass here, people.
  • Like I've said, this is all stupid. There were several opportunities for the NFL to plan this season with foresight instead of greed, and they punted on it and here we are now.
  • TB12 played last night and, without some of his prime weapons, it looked a lot like the Patriots 2019 season with bad protection, and no one open.
  • Bucs blew a 13-0 lead and lost to Nick Foles 20-19. And Foles is terrible.
  • And then Brady forgot how many downs there were on the final drive, and suddenly Brian Hoyer didn't feel so bad.
