Diving into prep on the Patriots’ next opponent with our “5 questions…” feature where we check in with a writer who covers New England’s next opponent. For this week’s game against the Broncos, we talk with veteran beat man, Ryan O'Halloran of the Denver Post. Check him out on Twitter here. Thanks to Ryan for his time.

1. OK, so the Broncos are no longer must-see TV for us around here ... what's going right for them so far?

Well, at 1-3, they’re off to a better start than last year’s 0-4 eyesore.:

  • They’re OK stopping the run, allowing 109 yards per game (13th in the NFL), and on third down, allowing conversions on 39.7% of the opportunities (10th).
  • First-round receiver Jerry Jeudy has at least 55 yards receiving in all four games (15 catches, 234 yards, one touchdown), including catches of 19, 20, 21, 22, 25 and 48 yards.
  • Kicker Brandon McManus is 6 of 7 on field goals (only miss was from 58 yards).
  • Tight end Noah Fant, a first-round pick in 2019, leads the team with 19 catches (two touchdowns), but isn’t expected to play Monday because of an ankle injury.
